Description

Charles Gounod composed twelve operas, but only “Roméo et Juliette” and his best-known work “Faust” are still regularly performed internationally today. “Romeo and Juliet” is the most famous love story of all time. Gounod’s operatic version of the Shakespearean tragedy follows the original very closely and proves that the story has lost none of its fascination to this day. Stephen Lawless directed the production from the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona with lavish sets and carefully selected costumes.
