Finch: Notes to Self

What would you say to your 13-year-old self? This question occupied Catrin Finch when she entered the studio to record “Notes to Self,” a series of thoughtful and deeply personal new pieces that she composed for Katy, her 13-year-old self—her first album of solo compositions in ten years. Accompanied by letters that underscore the profundity of her personal journey, “Notes To Self” weaves together Catrin Finch's experiences, emotions, and self-reflections. Through her music, she explores themes such as vulnerability, expectations, transformation, and the unpredictability of a life in the public eye. Each composition draws on her past, a 40-year career as one of the most experimental and innovative artists of her generation.

“Notes To Self” not only shows Catrin's development as a musician but also traces a remarkable career. “Notes To Self” is a bold step forward in a new creative direction for Catrin Finch, whose career takes a new turn with every new project.
