Ennui

This is an album about boredom, in which the award-winning music group Franui, accompanied by actor Peter Simonischek, takes us from everyday life back to childhood and from there straight to the cemetery. By "ennui," it is not meant in the sense of what is called "dull" in Vienna. Rather, it is about existential boredom, about that moment when a black void seizes you, when you become aware of the absurdity of existence—or whatever philosophers have called this state. One of them—Kierkegaard—claimed that boredom could never be overcome through work. Only through entertainment could it be countered. Entertainment, distraction, pastime, pleasure—in music, this means: divertimento! And the Franuis find brilliant examples of this genre for their memorable musical narrative in Mozart, Satie, Schumann, and others. All that is left to say is: Enjoy the show!
