Description

All three works on this CD are first-time recordings. They are intended to help rediscover Ferdinando Carulli's unpublished and unfairly forgotten music. The pieces with opus numbers 81, 99 and 172 are typical examples of the "Great Classics" by Mozart, Haydn and Beethoven, and it is no coincidence that the second movement of Sonata No. 1, op. 81, "Poco Allegro" is reminiscent of Mozart's early solo piano composition "Aria Moderata". The first printed editions from the 19th century were used for the recording, and all of Carulli's inserted instructions were followed in detail.
