Campo: String Quartet No. 10 / Scherzo

This CD is a recording of a concert by Cuarteto Seikilos on May 28, 2025, at the Fundación Juan March in Madrid. It documents the world premiere recording of the String Quartet No. 10 (1945) and the Scherzo for String Quartet (1911) by Conrado del Campo (1878–1953), one of the most original and least known Spanish composers of the first half of the 20th century. This recording is part of the ambitious Proyecto Conrado, launched in 2021, which aims to make the composer's complete body of thirteen string quartets available for the first time. A complete edition of the largely previously unpublished scores and the release of the recordings on the MarchVivo label will complete the rediscovery of this unjustly forgotten repertoire.
