Description

On the occasion of the upcoming Bruckner anniversary (2024), the Vienna Philharmonic, under the baton of Christian Thielemann, recorded a complete symphony cycle for the first time—including the early symphonies in F minor ("Study Symphony") and D minor ("Zero"). The acclaimed concerts at the Vienna Musikverein, which have been released individually over the past few months, are now available together in a box set on five Blu-rays. In performing the symphonies, the Vienna Philharmonic draws on centuries of experience as Bruckner's orchestra: the Concertverein Orchestra, a predecessor of the Vienna Symphony Orchestra, was responsible for almost all of the symphonies' premieres.
