Bossi: Complete Organ Works Vol. 9

The ninth volume in the complete recording of the music of Enrico Bossi contains some of his most important late works, which are being recorded here for the first time. The organ version of the prologue to the opera “Malombra” is particularly impressive. Bossi also composed an expressive organ work with great pathos for the finale of the third act, revealing his vision of the famous novel by Fogazzaro. The program on this CD concludes with a collection of small compositions published as Op. 118 in Leipzig and Milan in 1900, which bear witness to Bossi’s extraordinary skill in exploring every expressive possibility of the organ.
