Blue Shoes

Saxophonist Sigurdur Flosason has been one of Iceland's most active jazz musicians for decades. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with some of the best musicians in Scandinavia. On his latest release "Blue Shoes," his partners are the Dane Kjeld Lauritsen on Hammond organ and Kristian Leth on drums, with whom he has worked on previous releases. A new addition is the outstanding Swedish guitarist Erik Söderlind. On some tracks, he is supported by Danish percussion master Birger Sulsbruck. The music, entirely original compositions by Flosason, is a blend of jazz and blues with a personal and Nordic touch. The album was recorded in the summer of 2025 at Village Recording in Copenhagen. Sigurdur Flosason has recorded over thirty CDs and is a multiple winner of the Icelandic Music Awards.
