Brass: All Orchestral Works & Orchestral Songs

Leo Blech is nowadays known at best as an opera conductor in Berlin, a position he held for almost half a century until he fled from the Nazis. As a composer, he is currently enjoying a well-deserved renaissance, for his compositions – mostly operas, but also orchestral works and orchestral songs – are wonderfully late-Romantic and moving. Christopher Ward and the Aachen Symphony Orchestra have recorded Blech's entire orchestral output (with and without choir). These are supplemented by several orchestral songs for voice and orchestra.
