Austrian Heartbeats Vol.2

Austria Kaleidoscope, the Second ! »Just as there is no guarantee of happiness in life, so too no recipe for art can be found«, Georg Friedrich Haas observes. Not only does the process of creation present numerous hurdles. The path from a completed composition to a wider audience is also fraught with difficulties. This provides ample reason to launch a CD series featuring contributions by young musical creators under the guidance of renowned curators. Georg Friedrich Haas, who charts his own course with the magnetic pull of microtonal layering, accompanies aspiring representatives of his field in their search for their own artistic language as a teacher at international universities. The works by young composers Marco Döttlinger, Peter Jakober, Hannes Kerschbaumer and Manuela Meier, selected by Haas for this compilation, also bear witness to their individual approaches. In this sense, the compilation is intended to inspire further realizations.
