Abel: 4.4.2

Composer Mark Abel, a longtime Delos partner, releases his seventh album on the label. Entitled simply “4.4.2,” it features the world premiere of four works for two performers. The album is a combination of vocal and chamber music, offering an enticing glimpse into Abel's diverse sound world. It presents one of America’s most original composers alongside an impressive list of international artists. The five-person lineup includes rising mezzo-soprano Simone McIntosh, flutist Alice K. Dade, violinist Jennifer Choi, cellist Jonah Kim, and pianists Michael McMahon, Ieva Jokubaviciute, and Keisuke Nakagoshi, as well as the composer himself on the organ. 4.4.2 will surely further establish Mark Abel as a “master of crafting compelling contemporary music.”
