Sheng, Bright

Bright Sheng was born in Shanghai in 1955 and lives and works as a composer. Bright Sheng is a Chinese and American composer. Sheng has received numerous awards for his music and compositions, including a MacArthur Fellowship in 2001; he was also a two-time finalist for the Pulitzer Prize. In 1995, he became a faculty member at the University of Michigan. Through recordings and performances, this music continues to be introduced to new generations around the world.
