Haydn, Joseph
Joseph Haydn was born in Rohrau in 1732 and died in Vienna in 1809. Joseph Haydn was an Austrian composer of the Classical period. He played a key role in the development of chamber music forms such as the string quartet and the piano trio. Although he had his own orchestra there, it isolated him from other composers and musical trends, so that, as he put it, he was "forced to become original." Notable works include the Paris and London symphonies. Through recordings and performances, this music continues to be introduced to new generations around the world. His independent and expressive musical legacy remains vibrant worldwide and continues to be received with great attention.
