Portrait of Tomaso Albinoni

Albinoni, Tomaso

Tomaso Albinoni was born in Venice in 1671 and died in Venice in 1751. Tomaso Albinoni was an Italian composer of the Baroque period. His work includes operas, concertos, sonatas for one to six instruments, symphonies, and solo cantatas. His music is still performed and admired all over the world today. He is remembered today primarily for a work titled "Adagio in G minor," which is attributed to him but was largely written by Remo Giazotto, a 20th-century musicologist and composer who cataloged Albinoni's works. His distinct, expressive, imaginative, influential, and enduring musical legacy remains alive worldwide and continues to be received with great attention.
