The works of composers Edmundo Villani-Côrtes, João Guilherme Ripper, Arrigo Barnabé, José Carlos Amaral Vieira, and Marisa Rezende—who are virtually unknown in this country—impressively showcase the stylistic diversity of 20th and 21st-century Brazilian music and open up exciting new perspectives. \n    \u003c\/p\u003e\n\n    \n\n    \n    \u003cp\u003e\n        All the works were written for the instrumentation of Schubert’s famous “Trout Quintet” (i.e., piano, violin, viola, cello, and double bass) and combine European chamber music traditions with Brazilian rhythms and tone colors.
