In the \"Rhapsody for Cello and Orchestra\", premiered by Pierre Monteux, the young composer first found his own voice. According to Rózsa, the \"Hungarian Notturno\" is 'a nostalgic night piece that draws on my childhood memories in Hungary'. And the double concerto, the \"Sinfonia Concertante for Violin and Cello\", a late work, is one of the least 'cinematic' in his oeuvre and perhaps his most underrated masterpiece.
