But as the Divine Liturgy begins, shipwrecked sailors call for help, and further acts of courage are needed. Composed by Kyriakos Kalaïtzidis according to the eight modes of Byzantine chant and sung in the rhymed, fifteen-syllable Greek verses of the author Vasiliki Nevrokopli, “Christmas at the Castle” tells an epic story of how a broken promise and unexpected adversities lead to redemption and simple yet wonderful celebrations on Christmas Eve. The physical product contains a 32-page booklet with a detailed essay, photographs, and all the texts in the original Greek and in English translation, as well as notes by the composer.\n
