The symphonies presented here are No. 2 (the first to be published in France), No. 24 (the first to be performed in France), and the so-called “Paris” symphonies No. 87 and No. 82 “L'Ours,” with their allusions to the atmosphere of the fairgrounds and their famous contrapuntal finale.
