{"product_id":"diminutions","title":"Diminutions","description":"\u003cdiv\u003e\n\n\n    \n    \u003cp\u003e\n        German harpist Maximilian Ehrhardt's second album with Carpe Diem Records is a unique concept album featuring music for the rare Italian \"Arpa Doppia\", a 17th-century chromatic harp. As only a few original compositions for this instrument are known, the idea of this project was to invent a new repertoire for the Italian chromatic harp and to use the instrument's special tonal and technical characteristics to build a bridge between past and present. Six compositions from the 17th century are complemented by six contemporary works that refer to their original models in very different and fascinating ways. This harp album is a completely new musical experience, both imaginative and daring, and will hopefully help to bring a wonderful, almost forgotten instrument back into the spotlight.\n
